Love can be sparked by any of these mating drives, but what we're used to seeing it from when our fairy tales to the love songs to the movies is the idea of romance and love as lust. So in my story with Chris, I didn't have lust in the very beginning. There was some dopamine because I actually looked forward to hanging out with him. And then I think we actually had more bonding where I felt bonded to him and then eventually the last thing that was sparked was the lust. It could definitely be lust and it could definitely be attraction and it definitely can be this chemical exchange, but that doesn't equate love.
