Fruit Flies - What Do They Have in Common?
Fruit flies are a great system for studying how s control development. Their brain, which is smaller than half a grain of rice, has only about a hundred thousand neurons in it. They have elaborate courtship rituals where the males sing to the females by vibrating their wings. And they're easy to handle in the lab and don't require that much specialized training.
