The Bifurcation of Deposits in the US Banking System
The average rate paid on deposits across the US banking system was about 1.4%. You can get over 300 basis points more than that in a money market fund. Credit quality continues to be relatively benign, and most banks did a good job of setting out what their commercial real estate exposure is.
