What Is the Difference Between Suragate End Points and What People Really Care About?

Doctor mc henry, in the illusion of evidence base medicine, you suggest that part of this is due to perverse research priorities. One of the things that has been of great concern to me is the idea of what we call suragate end points. Can you help us understand the difference between a serragate end point and something that people really care about? And i think that this is also related to something else, which is the difference between statistical significance and clinical significance.
