The Plasticity of Spinal Cord Injury

There's not a huge amount of literature on this part. The understanding at the moment in the literature that is there is that most injuries have some anatomic remains, even though they may not be clinically evident. You can have neurons that are remaining and start to have conversations with other remaining neurons. And this can actually change the degree of functionality. There may be sensation. It may be motor. It may not change it, but there is some degree of plasticity that is occurring.
