In 20 12 the uk. had already entered what was called the double dip recession. The economic ray of sunshine the government had hoped for simply failed to appear. An economist now, looking back would say th t that was the result of what was then called the austerity policies of george osborne. And because david cameron was in a coalition and had a junior coalition partner, the tories were not running the country as they usually do.
