Introduction
A survey of more than 9100 U.S. physicians found that roughly 53 percent of respondents said that they experienced burnout. Oshner Health has 36,000 employees and operates 47 hospitals throughout the Gulf South. In January 2022, the New Orleans-based health system received a $2.9 million grant through the Department of Health and Human Services to pilot programs in order to both address burnout and find ways to retain its staff.
