The Simplified Narrative of the Spanish Civil War
Stalinism presented its policies as a kind of Spanish NEP. The NEP being Lenin's new economic policy. He brought in from 1921, which re-introduced some elements of a free market and some Russian society. But this was done after the Civil War had been won. There's no analogy or like comparable basis for introducing what, you know, in effect was totally counterproductive measure in Spain.
