The Active Versus the Contemplative Life
Sertan says anyone who can put aside two hours a day to think and to contemplate as intellectuals, as contemplatives. He continues on this topic in this first chapter of the time of work by looking at proverbs. Sertan: Wisdom is out there in the streets, in the market, calling out to any one who will listen. Nobody hearkens unto wisdom. But if you would, it would benefit your intellectual life far more than many hours of studying wisdoms.
