Ukraine's Development Strategy Is a Disruption of International Institutions
The IMF and World Bank were committed very strongly to this ideology that markets left to their own devices would deliver good outcomes today. There has been a quite a positive shift i would say in those international institutions over the last decade or so because they now recognize that well spent efficiently raised tax money is critical to delivering positive development outcomes. The push for this more neoliberal development strategy is largely coming from Ukrainian domestic politics and is ideologically motivated on the part of the government, says Lea Kuznetsov.
