1970 seems to be like the first kind of turning point where this need just like kind of becomes a lot bigger. And it's because suddenly the whole like energy economy, at least in the US really drastically changes. The Arab oil embargo and all the countries that were supporting Israel in that war. It just went from energy and oil in particular being something that was abundant and super cheap.
