How Blood Pressure Can Be Regulated Locally
Tissues regulate their own blood pressure in response to their metabolic demands. So if tissues require more oxygen and more nutrients, they can increase their own blood Pressure or vice versa. If the perfusion rate goes up too high, basically you're overfeeding the tissue and it's like slow down. And the opposite is true: When a tissue isn't getting enough nutrients, it can tell blood vessels to dilate and relax and bring more blood into that particular area.
