Is There a Difference Between Modern and Traditional Societies?
Every society has different degrees of being polite. And so if you worry about saying something wrong in another culture, all you just have to remember is just be polite. Just don't say stuff that that you wouldn't even consider, that you would consider maybe is impolite or imposing. So from the point of view of someone who studied languages from alloer the world, like self, i would say that european languages are almost like borderline dialects of each other. To exaggerate their differences, or because it's due to culture, or, i mean, you're just pushing it. If you're interested in looking into this further, go read some interesting books.
