Is There a Proliferation of Local Cultures?

Digital technology is helping the pronifiation of a sub culturis localized, highly local. And i think there's a lotof really productive thought around how to structure technology and interstructure moving forward. We tend to think about technologies as being global and globalizing something that essentially makes the world smaller. But at the same time, these lilitle technologies have led to a proliferation of local cultures. Ithink there's just a lot of fruitful research to be done in that direction.
