The Immediate Short-Term Effect of Psychotherapy

The rate limiting factor is how long it takes for psychological change to take place. What they're really measuring, you know, is basically an immediate short-term we could call it a placebo effect or we can call it an effect of a short-term response to common factors. Any moralization, offering hope, expectation of benefits, some form of structured interaction and listening are all common factors. And people do benefit from these in the immediate short-run.
