In a lot of things I suspect it's used to conform, not inform. And if we could spend less time proving and more time improving, I think we'd be a lot better off. Also, when we think about purpose, certainly as an early career teacher the purpose was to triangulate for leaders. If you need to prove disprove that you are actually teaching children, then just getting to write edition down there's no need. There's no resemblance to what they won't learn any better because they've written it down.
