Boris Pash fell in love with the military intelligence game during his hunt for non-existent Japanese insurgents. He was soon named head of West Coast domestic security for the Manhattan Project. His first task was to investigate lead scientist Robert Oppenheimer and his associates to see if any of them were passing information to the Soviet Union. The entire lab was based off of basically current and former communists.
