Should We Expect a Long Term Recession?
If we look at the labor market right now, we've seen a pamphlet of announcements from tech companies again this week with new layoffs. But it seems contained to that particular sector so far. Would you expect contagion to other sectors throughout the next couple of quarters as a consequence of this? Probably because the retail side is pretty awful. If markets are discounting, making the retailers are telling consumers in trouble. And again, housing tells you consumers are in trouble.
