The Evolution of Juneteenth as a Holiday
On June 19, 1865, enslaved African-Americans in Texas formally was informed and told that they were free by General Granger. But freedom did not mean a equate to social and political economic freedom. The story of African-Americans start with the 20 Africans that arrived in Virginia in 1619. And last I want to talk about why Juneteenth is relevant in 2021.
