The Importance of Normalization in the Persian Gulf

The normalization of relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia is important. The other piece here that we haven't brought up yet is China's involvement in the region. I mean, this is what people will point to. But as far as displacing the United States as a regional power or displacing US influence, it's still very, very early to say that China is playing that kind of role.
