Is Aging the Causal Factor in Age Related Diseases?

I never thought that aging is something that needs to be intervened in or should be. But my friends at the time made me aware of this whole industry and research community looking into aging fundamental mechanisms, et cetera. And very quickly I realized that it makes all the sense in the world. There's no good reason why we should settle for the lifespan that we inherited from biologically from our ancestors. We're already cooked organisms using the cooking instructions stored in our DNA. If we want to change something in our biology, we have to go after gene expression.
