The Origins of the Mummy in the Valley of the Kings
Akhenaten had been on the throne for 17 years and Tutankhamun's got another 10. We assume that his body was taken as quickly as possible to the undertakers. He seems to have been mummified in pretty much the normal way but we have to be careful here because the other royal mummies from the Valley of the Kings weren't found in their own tombs. They were taken from their tombs at the end of the new kingdom and they were unwrapped and re-wrapped.
