The Importance of Negative Forecasting
Negative forecasting involves thinking about how things will go wrong and making a plan to avoid or prepare for it. Jim O'Shaughnessy's grandfather taught him a similar concept called premeditating, where you write out all the possible outcomes of getting what you want. Boxing is a high opportunity cost event that often leads to a dead end career for most fighters. Lettermore pursued boxing in schools simultaneously to have a backup plan in case his boxing career did not pan out.
