The Argument for Increasing the Minimum Wage

Most Americans favor increasing the minimum wage and believe that by doing so, they will help our fellow citizens. The thought process is nobody can live on 725 an hour, which is about $15,000 per year. If you want to raise the floor, you could do that with universal basic income or sending Americans a check for $5700 - both of which I support.
