What Is Heart Rate Variability?

In a normal, healthy heart and then also someone who is really adaptive and resilience to stress, we see a lot of variation between heartbeats. This happens for multiple reasons, but the primary reason is because your heart rate changes or should change significantly across the respiratory cycle. We know that when we exhale, that's actually us applying pressure onto our vagal break and vagus nerve. And so it allows the parasympathetic system to fully engage full-body nervous system.
