Why Is It So Hard to Understand Sports?
It's a sort of, you're teaching a machine to see a human from scratch. A lot of progress in computer vision over the years is making this problem easier and easier. In sports, it's not like you want to analyze a video and then know what happened a long time later. That might be the case for coaches, but for a lot of media applications, or referring applications, you want to able to do it basically instantaneously.
