This gives away the anti-marriage equality game, doesn't it? The effort to retain marriage as exclusively heterosexual due to its natural law function can't really coexist with tolerance for divorce, contraception or abortion. Andrew Sullivan is not a good guy and he has made his career sort of subsequent to his departure from the New Republic being a racist, anti-feminist, you know, really inexplicably passionate in transphobia. He's on the wrong side of basically every item of social progress that doesn't stand to benefit him personally.
