Corporate Social Responsibility in CSR

In the French revolutionary period, it's not really talking about corporations. It hasn't corporatized to the extent that it goes on to in the following century. The idea of corporate social responsibility is a bit of a legitimation story for corporations. If you endorse CSR or are seen to endorse CSR, that may give you political advantages which can lead to higher income and revenue down the line.
