In the UK, we're regulated by a body that solely exists to protect the public from bad dentistry. The General Dental Council covers indemnity and insurances for problems. There is a financial redress for patients if things go badly wrong and it can't be fixed easily. People who are dangerous to see so that the public can be assured when they see a dentist in this country who is registered.
