Marius and Sula are proud, arrogant. They both believe that they have answers for the problems of the Republic. And if only the Republic would bow to them, the thing would be solved. But what happens here is those divisions between Optimate and Populare or Petrician and plebeian become very, very vague. These guys really are leaving behind many Roman convictions, many political convictions, and just simply out for their own gain.
