The Death of the Left

The question of the left is still genuinely a global question. It's not just about, if we're talking about the left, it's not simply kind of the decline of social democracy in the West but a broader issue. The fact that China is run by a political party that still claims direct claims to be a direct descendant and inheritor of the October revolution in Russia are significant questions for the left. That is still something which belongs to a kind of historiography and a political account of the left over the 20th century.
