The Difference Between Correlating Logs and Tracing
When you move into tracing, what you're actually doing is you saying, the this thing that i've done was caused by this other thing. So in a h t t p context, and to use a specific example, when you've got a request coming in that then calls a data base, and then there's a after that to a third party web service, what you can actually see is that the h t tp request caused the sequel statement to be executed. But then it wasn't the sequel statement being executed that caused the web service to be called after it. That makes total sense. And then if you think about a support team, if they get an exception or something,
