In 1933, the German Nazi Party had Gao, USA, declared defunct and opened up the Friends of Germany. The first truly American fascist intellectual was a man named Lawrence Dennis. Readers of Dennis's first book walked away with a distinct impression that fascism would be preferable to communism since the choice was inevitable. They were good at 1933. They were firing on all cylinders. We all have our strengths.
