Birds have lost about two point six % of their mass over 40 years. A part of their leg which they use to measure the change in size, also shortened by an average of two point four%. We would normally expect to see that over like, a much longer period than forty years. Do scientists have any idea why animals are shrinking? What's going on here? A recent study of tens of thousands of birds has shown that birds are growing smaller over time. It could be due to climate change, and if so, we ought to consider: How else might humans be altering the literal shape of life on Earth — now and in the future?
