The Need for Non-Democracy Institutions in a Democratic System

The problem isn't Trump, right? The problem is a populace who would like to see this man, a major party nominee and president and president again. What about the democratic spirit in the country? I mean, with a small D, this is what disquiet's me. Democracy does not confer value on something. Evil doesn't become good because 50% plus one of the population says they like it.
