The History of the Ottoman Empire and Badabad

The relationship between the Ottomans and Badabad had been a little rocky. Sultan Salim considered himself the supreme leader of all Sunni Muslims. He did not like the idea of a Tamurid prince becoming a Shiite. The conversion was purely opportunistic to get Safavids support for Samarkand. Once that was no longer a factor, Badabad returned to Sunni Islam.
