Is Money a Measure of Happiness?

On average, larger incomes are associated with greater happiness. But it turns out that if you start out unhappy, if you've already achieved a certain level of wealth and you're unhappy, then adding wealth doesn't make you less unhappy. Money is, can help at the margin up to a point, but can't overcome other causes that might be driving your unhappiness.
