The video iPod was launched in October 2005, with unprecedented access to Disney content. For just $199, you could now buy next day episodes of ABC, ESPN, and Disney Channel shows through iTunes. The exact download numbers were proprietary, even Greg Daniels didn't know how many people were watching the show on iTunes. But it outsold shows with much higher on-air ratings, like Desperate Housewives. Thanks to the video iPod and Steve Carell's newfound stardom, the office scraped past a disappointing first season to get a full 22-episode second-season order. Season 2 starts with The Dundees, an episode written by Mindy Kaling about the yearly award ceremony
