The Complexity of the Atmosphere

We're sometimes seeing extremely hot pockets of plasma in what is normally a very cool atmosphere. Small tornadoes seem to be associated with some of the heating that we see. It's a violent place with a lot of different temperatures. Iris is really showing that what we needed and what we need is observations that not only allow you to measure things on very small spatial scales at a very rapid rate, but also have good temperature coverage.
