Sometimes writing means actively sucking, especially in those early barf drafts. You do need that group of support around you. I think all of us are searching for the magic key, and i don't think there is one. So figure out what works for you. And know that that might not work for everybody else, or anyone else. It's such a great tool to be able to seea the whole process from different points of view.
