The Parousia of the Lord Jesus Christ

Paul is describing the same event that he talked about in his first letter to the Thessalonians. He's talking about the parousia, the return of Christ. This is not some sort of secret rapture of the church,. Look also at Paul's second letter to thethessalonians which I think cements this understanding.
