The Disadvantages of University Tech Transfer
Universities that are producing novel discoveries and novel technologies should be producing hit after hit after hit commercially. But when you look at the incentives largely seems like short-term incentives put in place by the tech transfer office, which is just the interface. They put all these onerous terms on cash payments or royalties and trying to recoup their cash expenses even though there's an artificial need on the university side. And so maybe this is the kind of thing where because one of the other areas I also play with is new types of educational institutions.
