Well, it turned out Paul Van Riper started using like light signals and sending people on couriers with motorcycles. So he just fell back on that immediately and was planning on it and relied on instinct. He managed to overwhelm the Navy and destroyed half of their destroyers in the period of like a six hour timeframe.
