"The point of Dan's story is not to demonize nurses, who especially in this moment, we recognize as people who do vital and courageous work," she says. "But the point is to ask what kinds of systems thinking would help make their job easier? And whose job is it to do that upstream work?" She continues: "In situations like that, where ownership is diffuse and where lots of people kind of have claims on the problem, but there's no one clear owner."
