How Do Additional Signatures Work?

In the block chain, there's a private key and a public key. If you reveal your private key, then ou know, any one can sign. Anyone who has your public key can easily verify your signature. So what's reilly cool is that if you are passing around a signature and a document, it doesn't matter whose hands it falls into. It could fall into the most malicious person's hands in the world, but they're not able to forge the signatures.
