David Byrne has written a really interesting book about music and technology that I think is called How Music Works. And he talks about how, when people talk about it as to my old gramophone. Well, exactly. When people talk about the perfect three minute pop song, that's because that's how much music you could fit on the disc. It's not attention spans, it's that your attention span has been led there by the, by the technology.
