The Corinthian Ambassador's Complaints Against the Athenians
Thucydides does not supply us with any evidence as to whether the Agenians had a legitimate complaint against recent Athenian action. The Corinthian ambassador probably was the last one to speak of the allies Hoping to capitalize on all of the complaints against Athens in order to change Spartan opinion. He began by complaining about a theaning aggression against them at Corcyra and Pottadilla Since none of Athens's actions technically breached the peace he then tried to persuade the Spartans that their traditional policy of prudence and reluctance to fight would be disastrous when it comes to the growing power of Athens.
