The Virtues of St. Thomas

A virtue as an operative habit is something that actually makes us more conscious of what we're doing, not less. St. Thomas breaks down the virtues according to the system of the virtues: faith, hope, and love,. prudence, justice, temperance, and fortitude. The first three are theological virtues so-called because they join us directly to God. They are by means of which we are joint in our life to God.
