The Different Levels of Automotive Safety Integrity

There's four different levels of automotive safety integrity levels, ASL. A and B are pretty lightweight. If something breaks, that means you're annoyed. It's called ASL-D for the delta. That one has to work correctly every time. So there are efforts right now around Zen and KVM to do hypervisors which can separate workloads enough to be able to certify them as functionally safe in the same way your company would certify a black box.
