I think these settlements, they had a different amount of kind of public spaces, if you like. And that's one of the things i developed in the book as a tool for thinking about more open or an more private, closed or private kind of spaces. In the vale of us, you've got these big open fields, which are shared, hey're not completely public ase. You know, joe bloggs couldn't come from a hundred miles away and start taking the crops, yet, you had to have a share in the field system. People invest in these public spaces.
